We open up on Maggie. She’s distraught, crying as a walker approaches her from behind. At what is practically the last possible moment, Maggie gets up and halfheartedly kills that walker by stabbing it in the head. Immediately after, Maggie collapses, leans up against a tree and keeps crying.
3 weeks have gone by since they left Atlanta.
We get a quick cut to Darryl, who is digging with his hands, looking for what I assume to be water. Another quick cut, and now we’re with Sasha. Sasha is walking along a dry creek bed, looking for water when she see a lot of dead frogs. The frogs seem to all be going towards the same direction. Just then, we hear some tree limbs breaking only to realize that it’s Darryl and Sasha up on the ridge.
The three of them come out from the woods and make their way back to the others. That’s when Maggie says the line from the previews “how much longer have we got” only she’s not talking about how much further until they reach DC.
It looks like the gang is just driving along until they run out of gas. Also, it seems like they are running low of supplies. They need water and food and now they’re on foot.
Darryl and Carol go off into the woods looking for whatever they can find.
Gabriel tries to get Maggie to talk to him about Beth or her dad, but Maggie is having none of it. Maggie knows that Gabriel is a coward and won’t have anything of it.
As the gang is walking along the road, they seem to have picked up a gang of walkers behind them. The walkers seem to get closer and further behind as is convenient for the storyline.
Carol and Darryl are having their own moment remembering Beth. Carol tells Darryl that she can’t not let herself feel things about Beth. She also tells Darryl that he will eventually feel something and then kisses him on the forehead.
Back with the group, they’ve decided to make a stand against the horde/ gang or walkers that was behind them. The plan was to throw the walkers over a bridge but Sasha broke ranks. Michonne tries to get Sasha to stop being a dick, but Sasha will have none of that. I guess Sasha feels due for a bit of walker killin since they killed her brother.
Darryl, saves Rick from getting bit. Again.
The group keeps going down the road then they come across a bunch of cars parked along the road. As they scavenge, Maggie opens the trunk of a car and finds a walker locked in the trunk of one of the parked cars. The walker looks like an old lady and looks like it’s asking for a mercy kill. Glenn ends up taking care of it since Maggie looked like she was about to shoot it.
Darryl has gone off into the woods by himself. He finds the body of someone that has blown their brains out, and it makes me think that it could’ve been that one guy that they left way back when.
The group is resting, when a pack of dogs comes out from the woods. The dogs are all covered in blood and were about to attack the group. Sasha, reacts quickly and shoots all the dogs.
The gang feasts on dog meat.
XXX tries to tell Sasha that Tyreese tried to help him. Sasha just blows him off.
Maggie has a staring contest with Gabriel, as they eat dog. Gabriel acquiesces and just takes a bite of meat.
In what appears to be the next day, Maggie and Glenn talk about Beth. Maggie thought that Beth was dead since they left the prison. Then, when she heard that Beth was still alive, she got happy, but then seeing her dead just brought the darkness back.
Sasha and Abraham have a moment where Sasha tells Abraham and these guys aren’t her friends. Abraham is drinking out of a fitfth of whiskey while everyone else is trying to share out of these little bottles of water.
Darryl goes off into the woods for a smoke and he comes up to a shed. While he’s smoking his cigarette, he takes the cigarette in on hand and burns his other hand with it. That’s when Darryl starts to cry.
Darryl rejoins the group to find that the gang is standing around a bunch of bottles of water that miraculously appeared in the road. There was a sign that said “From a friend” and when Eugene is about to take a drink of it Abraham knocks the bottle out of his hands. They don’t know if the water has been laced with something or not.
Just then, the proverbial heavens open up and it starts to rain. the problem is that it starts to rain really hard and Judith starts to cry. The group makes a run for the barn/ shed that Darryl saw earlier. They go inside and take refuge from the weather.
Night falls, and the they’ve got a little fire going. The group is huddled around the fire and they’re talking about Carl and his resiliency. Michone disagrees with Rick about whether or not this is the world now. rick says that this is what they have to live with, but Glenn and Michonne don’t want to agree with that.
Rick starts to tell a story about his grandpa in the war. Rick asked him if he ever killed any Germans in the war, but his grandpa wouldn’t answer him. His grandpa said that was grownup talk. Rick is trying to tell the group that this is how they survive and no matter what they find in DC they will survive.
Rick says that they need to tell themselves that they are the walking dead. Darryl disagrees. Darryl says “we’re not them” and Rick agrees with him. Somehow, I don’t think that they both mean the same thing.
Darryl, is a little agitated and walks towards the door. while he’s there, he notices that the front door to the shed isn’t quite locked all the way. As he approaches the door to lock it, in a flash of lightning, he sees a herd of walkers coming towards the doors. Everyone gets up to hold the doors back.
Suddenly, it’s daytime and Maggie wakes up to find Darryl sitting by the wall. Everyone is sort of spread around the barn, sleeping as if nothing happened. Maggie tells Darryl that he should get some sleep.
Maggie and Sasha step outside to go get some water or something, and when they step outside of the shed, the come across all of the walkers from the night before. It looks like a tornado went right past the shed, took down a bunch of trees and disabled the walkers. There are walkers outside all mangled up in the trees. Mags and Sash go and sit on a tree and watch the sunrise.
Mags and Sash tell each other that they are going to make it.
Just then, this new random guy comes out of the woods. He’s impeccably clean and he wants to talk to Rick. He presents himself as a friend and his name is Aaron. He’d like to talk to the person in charge, and he knows that the person in charge is named “Rick.”
