The Walking Dead 414 – The Grove
This episode of The Walking Dead opens with the scene from the preview. We’re looking through a kitchen window, as a tea kettle cmes to boil. There’s music playing. Outside the window, there’s a kid running and playing what appears to be tag. The kid, is playing with a walker. The opening scene, ends.
We come back to Tyrese, Lizzie, Carol Judith and Mika. Lizzie and Carol are talking. Lizzie asks Carol “did you have any kids?” Carol says that her daughter didn’t have a mean bone in her body. Lizzie counters with “Is that why she’s not here anymore?” Carol nods yes.
Tyrese is having nightmares. In the morning, Carol is dressing one of Tyrese’s wounds. Carol and Tyrese are talking about the girls, and Carol remarks that Mika doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. They continue down the tracks.
As they walk down the tracks, they start to smell something burning. Carol goes off to see if she can find water. While Tyrese and Lizzie are sitting in the tree line, Tyrese spots a walker coming down the tracks. Tyrese goes to kill it, but Lizzie tells Tyrese not to kill it.
Carol is trying to talk Mika into being OK with killing people. Mika is not having it. As they’re talking, they come up to a pecan grove. Carol and Tyrese go inside the house and leave the girl’s outside. After Tyrese and Carol go inside, a walker comes out from a side door. It goes over the railing and falls near the girls.
Mika, springs into action while Lizzie seems frozen in fear. Mika, kills the walker and Lizzie freaks out.
We get to see the rest of the scene from the preview. The little girl playing with the walker is Lizzie. Carol sees what’s happening and goes out and kills the walker. Lizzie, again freaks out yelling “she was my friend” in reference to the walker.
Carol and Tyrese are talking about staying in the grove. While they are talking, Lizzie leaves the grounds and goes to find the walker that Tyrese didn’t kill and left on the tracks. Lizzie is feeding it rats. Lizzie, is eve talking about how she should turn into a walker so that people can understand them better. Mika tries to talk some sense into Lizzie and they’re having it out, some burned walkers come out from the woods.
The girls run back to the grove, and the 4 of them together take down all the burned walkers that were coming towards them.
That night, they’re chillin in the living room. Mika says she doesn’t want to be mean, but Lizzie tells her that she may need to be. The girls bake some cookies. The next morning, Carol and Tyrese pretty much decide that they should stay there, in the grove.
Tyrese, starts to tell Carol about how he dreams about Karen and how he forgets that she’s dead. Tyrese, tells Carol that he sometimes has dreams of some stranger killing Karen. Carol, seems like she wants to tell Tyrese that she was the one that did it, but she goes off on a tangent about hauntings and living with the choices that they had to make.
After they have their heart to heart, they return to the house.
They find Lizzie, standing with a bloody knife, over the body of Mika. Lizzie, all smiles, says that it will be OK because she didn’t damage the brain. Lizzie wants everyone to wait for Mika to turn so she can show Carol and Tyrese that everything will be OK.
Lizzie confesses that she was the one feeding the walkers back at the prison. Tyrese wonders out loud if maybe Lizzie killed Karen and David. Tyrese and Carol decide that Lizzie can’t be around other people, they don’t feel safe with her anymore and they don’t think that Judith will be safe around Lizzie anymore either.
Next day, Carol and Lizzie go out to pick flowers for Mika. Carol, tells Lizzie to look at the flowers, takes a few steps back and then shoots Lizzie in the head.
Tyrese and Carol bury the girls.
That night, while they are putting together a puzzle, Carol confesses that she was the one that killed Karen and David back at the prison. She says that she did to keep the illness from spreading. Carol, tells Tyrese to do what he has to do, and bows her head. Tyrese, forgives Carol, and tells her that he’s never going to forget what she did, but he forgives her.
Tyrese tells Carol that she doesn’t have to stay. They agree that they cannot stay at the grove anymore.
The next day, the walk out the gate, back to the railroad track, and they keep walking towards Terminus.
