The Walking Dead Season 2, Episode 12
We open up, with a view of Otis’s old truck barreling down the road. Rick provides the voiceover. Rick is giving Dale’s eulogy, talking about Dale’s honesty and the look that he had. Rick says that Dale could tell the truth about you.
He wants to prove that Dale was wrong when he said that the group is broken. While Rick is talking, we see Andrea, T-dawg, Shane and Daryl going “Office Space” crazy on a group of walkers that are eating another walker.
The group finally starts to organize a protective perimeter around the farm. There is still a lot of friction between Rick and Shane. Hershel tells Rick that he has no patience left for Shane.
Rick asks Andrea to keep and eye on Shane while he and Daryl go walk about.
Carl goes and asks Shane if he can tell him something without Shane telling his parents. Carl confesses to Shane that he saw the walker that killed Dale and that he tried to kill it. Carl tells Shane the whole story about the walker. Carl wanted to give Shane Daryl’s gun and Shane tried to give it back to Carl but Carl refused it.
As part of his orders to shore up the defenses of the farm, Hershel agrees to let our survivor’s move into the house. Maggie offered Glenn her room, but Glenn decides to live in the living room.
Hershel offers his room to Rick and Lori and for the first time he said “this is our home” in reference to the farm and the house.
Lori goes off and finds Shane and has a little heart to heart about the whole Dale situation. Shane was building a crow’s nest on the windmill and stupid Lori tells Shane that she doesn’t know who her baby daddy is. She also thanks Shane for “being there for her” while Rick was in a coma in the hospital.
Lori ends up telling Shane that she’s sorry for everything that happened between them. You gotta wonder, what would make her want to do something like that? Some sense of loyalty to Rick? Loyalty to Shane? Real gratitude, or is it something completely different?
Darryl and Rick agreed to go out and take care of the Randall situation. While Darryl and Rick were talking, Shane came up and told Rick about what Carl told him.
Then, cut out to Andrea, who’s trying to startup the RV. Glenn comes up and tries to giver her some pointers, but then they both realize how much they miss Dale and how important Dale was to the group. Both Glenn and Andrea managed to get the RV started after remembering all the things that Dale told them about the old girl.
Rick and Carl have a heart to heart about what happened to Dale, and Rick ends up giving Carl Daryl’s gun. I just hope that they have the decency to tell Daryl that they took his gun from the side saddle on his bike.
Shane walks in to Randall’s cell and puts a gun to Randall’s head. He ends up freeing Randall and taking him into the woods.
Randall tells Shane about where his camp is. Shane tells Randall that he wants to go with him to his camp. But instead, Shane ended up killing Randall out in the woods. Shane ran back to the farm and told the guys that Randall is armed and that he wend out into the woods.
Darryl is the only one that questions Shane’s story.
Shane, Rick, Darryl and Glenn end up heading out into the woods looking for Randall. They guys split up and Shane and Rick go off in one direction and Glenn and Daryl go off in a different direction.
Eventually, Darryl and Glenn find and Randall, who has now turned into a walker. Darryl and Glenn examine Randall’s body and realize that he has turned into a walker even though he was never bitten or scratched.
Rick eventually realizes that Shane just wanted to execute him. Shane says “what did you think, we were just going to walk out of here and ride off into the sunset together?” Shane tells Rick that he’s a better man than he is. Rick tells Shane that he’s going to have to kill an unarmed man and he throws his gun down.
Rick still tries to tell Shane that they can come back to the farm together since nothing has happened yet. Rick has his gun out and offers his gun to Shane. While Rick tries to talk Shane down, he ends up pulling a knife out and stabbing Shane in the heart.
Rick mourns his friend loudly.
Somehow, Carl ends up in the same field that Shane and Rick were in.
Rick, thinks that Carl is upset at seeing kill Shane. Carl, does the first manly thing he’s ever done and shoots the walker Shane in the head.
The thing is, the gun shot, alerts some other walkers that are in the woods and they all start to chase after Rick and Carl as they start to walk back to the house.
The episode ends, as Rick and Carl are walking up to the house, and Lori is calling out for Carl. that’s when Rick, Carl and everyone else realize that there are a bunch of walkers hot on Rick and Carl’s tail.
Next week is the season finale.
So now, the deal is, that when people die, they now turn into walkers. No matter how they died.
