The Walking Dead 515: Try
This week’s episode of the Walking Dead opens over at Deana’s house. She starts to play a CD labelled “Running Mix.” Song #1 is a Nine Inch Nails song. They are mourning the loss of Aiden.
Carol baked Deana a dish and left it on her front porch with a note that said “We’re sorry for your loss.” Deana takes the note and burns it. She doesn’t take the dish.
Outside of the wall, we see Daryl and Aaron out beyond the wall. They’ve found a camp of some people.
Meanwhile, inside the camp, Nicholas is lying his ass off to Deanna. Trying to tell her that Glenn was at fault for the death of Aiden. Nicholas is trying to lay blame on Glenn and trying to paint himself as hero.
While Nicholas is lying, Glenn is telling Rick the truth. Glenn is telling Rick how things went down and trying to convince Rick that they are one and the same as the Alexandrians. Rick’s not having it.
In the next scene, Carol is telling Rick more about the horrors inside the Pete, Jessie and Sam household. Carol is trying to convince Rick that he needs to kill Pete so he can have Jessie.
Rick goes for a walk, and of all people, he runs into Pete. Rick, has the wherewithal to tell Pete to keep walking.
Next we see Michonne getting woken up by an alarm. Rosita comes in and tells her that Sasha is missing. So, Michonne and Rosita go out looking for Sasha. It’s their first time outside the wall. The two of them have a heart to heart while they are outside.
Back inside the walls, Rick tells Deana that they have a problem with Pete. Deana knew about the abuse. Rick tells her that they need to separate the 2. Deana tells Rick that they’re not going to kill Pete, that she would rather exile Pete than kill him. Rick makes a case for killing Pete but Deana will have none of it.
Outside again, Michonne and Rosita are following the trail of walkers that Sasha is killing. They figure out that Sasha is hunting them.
Carl finds Enid and they go off running together in the woods. They come across a walker and they start to play with it, just like Mikka.
Back inside the walls, Glenn confronts Nicholas about his cowardice. Glenn tells Nicholas that he is not allowed to go outside the walls anymore. Nicholas tries to buck up to Glenn, but Glenn shuts him down.
Carl and Enid stop by a tree and start to talk. Enid tells Carl that he scares her, but Enid isn’t so much in the sharing mood despite what Carl says. They hear a herd of walkers approaching, so Carl and Enid hide in a tree as the walkers go by. Enid tells Carl that he should run because he is scared of her too.
The girls find Sasha and she is on a walker killing spree. All three of them get in on killing some walkers. Both Sasha and Michonne have a little breakdown. Michonne has flashbacks to her bad ass days with her sword.
Meanwhile, we join Daryl and Aaron. They’ve come up to a camp where they find broken up body parts. Daryl says that this just happened. They walk around a little, and find a woman tied to a tree. She’s been eaten half to death and starts to turn. Daryl puts her out of her misery, but he also notices the W on her forehead.
Back inside the walls, Rick tells Jessie that Pete needs to stop beating her. Jessie says that she can fix it, but Rick tells her that he can fix it. Jessie keeps asking Rick what can he do and whatever and walks away from Rick claiming that she can take care of herself and she doesn’t need his help.
Rick starts to have an existential crisis in the middle of the street. He goes back in to Jessie’s house and tells her that Sam wanted a gun to protect her. He tries to make the point that Jessie needs to not die and again offers to protect her. Jessie wants to know why Rick cares, and keeps asking “Would you do this for someone else?” Rick says “No.”
Then Jessie whispers “yes.” Just then, Pete walks in and asks Rick what he’s doing there. Then Pete tells Rick that he has to leave, but Jessie tells Pete that he is the one that has to leave. Rick tells Pete that they are both leaving and then they come to blows.
All hell breaks loose as Rick and Pete are beating each other to a pulp in the street.
Rick has a breakdown. Rick essentially throws a coup d’ grace. He’s covered in Pete’s blood making a speech about how there will be a regime change and just as he’s getting going, Michonne cold clocks Rick.
So ends the episode.
