The Walking Dead 514 – Spend
Episode 514 of the Walking dead starts off showing us a quiet day in Alexandria. Father Gabriel is walking around his new chapel/ church. It looks like he’s working on a sermon. He suddenly notices that someone has left him a strawberry pie and a note that says that they are blessed to have him.
Gabriel loses his shit and starts to tear pages out of the bible that lay in front of him.
Daryl rides out from camp on a recruiting run.
It looks like Noah is trying to get in the good graces of Deana’s husband Reg. Noah wants to learn how to build/fix/reinforce the walls. Noah also wants to learn how to fix the houses and know how things work so he can fix it. Reg starts to teach him.
There is an away team preparing to head out to get parts to repair the city’s power supply. Eugene says he can fix it, but he didn’t want to go with the away team to fetch the parts. He basically gets browbeaten into going along. The team speeds away in a van, listening to techno music.
Meanwhile, someone’s has destroyed the owl that Jessie was working on. Rick gets all officer friendly and says that he’ll look into what happened and who did it.
With the away team, there’s some friction between the members. Glenn is saying that they should check the perimeter but Nicholas says that it’s not necessary. Glenn wins out and they discover that the front door, which was Nicholas’s idea, is out of the question as it’s infested with walkers.
Tara and Eugene are walking around doing a perimeter check and Tara is amazed at Eugene’s level of cowardice. Eugene argues that he deserves the credit for bringing the group to DC since it was his idea to go there.
It looks like the away team is inside a Sams club.
The team finds an enclosure that is filled with walkers.
Tara & Eugene go off and actually find the supplies. that they went to go get. Some kind of component that Eugene needs to fix the power grid at Alexandria. While they celebrate, a walker that used to be a soldier starts to creep up on Nicholas and Spencer.
Glenn tries to tell Spencer to wait until the walker is closer to finish him off, but Spencer keeps shooting at the walker. The walker, since it’s still wearing body armor, happens to have a grenade. the grenade goes off when it’s hit with a bullet from Spencer’s gun.
After the explosion, the team tries to gather their wits. The warehouse is full of smoke and they’re not entire sure what’s happening.
The explosion killed Spencer, Tara is injured on the ground and it’s up to Eugene to save Tara. Well, he failed. Glenn saved them both and lead everyone to an office for temporary safety while they check on Tara.
Tara, is badly injured and losing blood. They need to get her to the med kit that is in the van. Turns out, Spencer isn’t dead, he’s badly injured, but not dead.
Glenn, Nicholas and Noah decide to go off and save Spencer. They leave Eugene in charge of taking care of Tara.
Abraham, is off with another away team gathering supplies to expand the wall. While they are out there, they come under attack from a herd. Abraham goes into full biblical mode after declaring “mother dick.” Abraham starts to kill walkers left and right to save Francine, who is one of the other away members.
Back at Alexandria, Jessie’s husband Pete, aka porch dick, comes over to talk to Rick. He is a boor and I get he impression that Pete was the one that destroyed the owl.
Anyway, back with the away team, Eugene starts to make a run for the van with Tara thrown over his shoulder. Spencer is impaled in such a way that Glenn and Nicholas can’t lift him off the rod that he’s impaled on. Glenn tries, but Nicholas bails on the effort. Noah is shooting off the walkers as best he can, but he can’t hold them off.
Glenn refuses to let Spencer go, but Spencer confesses that the last members of the away team that they lost, they lost because he and Nicholas left them to get eaten. Just then, Noah yells out “they’re here” and pulls Glenn away just in the nick of time before the walkers start to bite into Spencer and eat him.
Back at the construction site, they’ve taken care of the herd and Abraham has taken charge of the team. Back at Alexandria, Tobin is telling Deana that Abraham should be put in charge of the construction crew. Maggie vouches for Abraham and Deana seems torn that yet another one of Rick’s crew is getting put in a position of power.
Carol and Sam are talking. Long story short, Sam got Carol to make him cookies. Turns out that maybe Sam broke the owl, or maybe not.
Back at the warehouse, Glenn Noah and Nicholas are stuck in a revolving door. They’re inside the revolving door and there are walkers on either side of the door. Just then, Eugene drives by in the van and draws the attention of the walkers that are on the outside of the door. Glenn tells Nicholas that they need to break the glass and get out but Nicholas is a dick and panics.
When he does that, Noah gets pulled out of the door and suffers the most gruesome death we’ve seen so far.
Back in Alexandria, Eugene is being a prick and telling Deana that she made a mistake by letting Rick and his crew behind the walls. Gabriel tells her that Rick’s team will destroy her paradise sooner rather than later.
Carol, confronts Pete and determines that he is hitting Jessie. Carol tells Rick that he’s gonna have to kill Pete.
So, the episode ends.
