Season Finale – Welcome to the tombs: Spoilers Galore!
This, is laden with spoilers. You have been warned.
The episode, opens up with the Governor beating someone up. At first, it looks like it’s Andrea, but it turns out that it’s Milton. Milton is tied up to a post as the governor is punching him. The governor is telling Milton that the smell of gun powder means that he’s alive. You kill or be killed. Governor tells Milton that his daughter would be alive had the Governor always been like this.
The Governor tells Milton to kill Andrea if he wants to live. Milton tries to kill the Governor instead, but loses the fight. The Governor, stabs Milton and leaves him to die so he’ll turn and then kill Andrea.
Cut to the prison.
People are packing, getting ready to leave.
The Governor’s men, full frontal attack the prison. They barge through the gates and into the prison, but they meet no resistance.
Our group, has cleared out of cell block C.
Back in Woodbury, Milton is telling Andrea about the tool that he left behind her. Milton, is telling Andrea to hurry up, but Andrea seems to want to talk rather than pick up the tool.
Back at the prison, the Governor and his men are making their way through the prison maze. Andrea and Milton are still talking. Milton, keeps telling Andrea to hurry, but she just keeps talking.
At the prison, our gang has setup an ambush with walkers and smoke bombs. As the Governor’s men run out of cell block C, Glenn is setup in a perch with a perfect line of fire. He shoots, but doesn’t hit anyone. All of the Governor’s people got out without a single casualty. That is, until the Governor stops the convoy and proceeds to shoot every member of the Woodbury army that he brought with him.
Carl, kills a dude in the forest that came across where Carl, Hershel, Beth and Judith were hiding out. The kid, appeared to be handing over his gun when Carl shot him. I think, the kid was setting Carl up so he could stab him while Carl was reaching for the gun. Carl, did what he had to do but Hershel thinks that Carl didn’t need to shoot the kid.
Later on, Carl tells Rick that he killed that kid because he had to in order to keep the kid from killing any more of their people. Carl tells Rick that had he killed Andrew, Andrew would not have killed Lori. Carl also tells Rick that had he killed the Governor when he had the chance, they wouldn’t be in this situation.
The Governor, shot the people that he gunned down earlier in the head until he ran out of bullets. Martinez and The Bowman do nothing to stop him. The last we see of the Governor, he takes off in his Dodge pickup with Martinez and The Bowman. They did not go back to Woodbury.
Rick, Michonne, Daryl and Karen[?], the one survivor of the Governor’s Woodbury army massacre head to Woodbury. Tyrese and Sasha, are manning the wall. After some pleasantries are exchanged, they let the gang come in to Woodbury and search for Andrea. They find her, but Milton bit her.
Andrea keeps saying that she didn’t want anyone else to die. Andrea told Rick that she knows how the safety works now, then she said her goodbyes. Michonne stayed with her until Andrea pulled the trigger.
The season ended, with Rick bringing the survivors of Woodbury, the ones that Tyrese and Sasha were protecting, back to the prison. Carl, is not happy with Rick for bringing these people back.
Why Rick and the gang didn’t just take over Woodbury, with its heat, running water, electricity etc. is beyond me. The season ends, with a shot of a tomb.
A rather hopeful ending.
