Episode 403: Isolation
Episode 403: Isolation opens with Glenn and Maggie digging graves and quickly cuts to a scene showing us Hershel and Dr. S tending to another one of the Woodbury-ites going down with the sickness. Quickly, again, we’re cut to the courtyard where Tyrese has lost his marbles and starts to fight with Rick.
Tyrese punches Rick a few times, Daryl pulls Tyrese off Rick and Rick punches Tyrese. Daryl lets Tyrese go and Rick punches the crap out of Tyrese. Hershel and Rick have another heart to heart and they talk about what happened which Hershel describes as Rick “falling off the wagon.”
Sasha has the sickness now. Hershel and Glenn see her off to death row where the makeshift infirmary is. This is the scene from the preview. Everyone from Cell Block D has the sickness. During a council meeting, we see that Glenn is starting to feel the impact of the sickness.
Hershel tells Daryl they need to get some antibiotics from the local college. They also decide to separate the kids out from the general population.
Rick and Tyrese have a heart to heart out at Karen and David’s gravesite. We get to see just how badly Rick beat him up.
Carl is getting ready to go into the kiddy quarentine and he preps Rick that he might have to shoot somebody. Glenn tells Maggie that he’s got it and she instinctively knows that he does not mean herpes.
OK, that’s a bad joke, but I think you get the gist of it.
Daryl and Michonne are getting the car ready to go on the trip and they’re trying to talk about who they can get to come along on the road with them. They decide they need to bring Tyrese along for the ride.
Interesting little tidbit, we cut to a Hershel sitting by himself scene and we see a poster that says “Smooth seas do not make good sailors.”
Hershel tells Carl that he has to go out into the woods for something or another. Carl, tells Hershel, that if he has to go out into the woods, he has to go with him.
Up until now, it’s been only Woodbury people getting sick, so it’s good that Glenn has it. One of the little girls who’s dad died last week has it. Carol puts her in confinement with the rest of them.
Maggie tells Beth that Glenn is sick, and Beth tells her that she need to concentrate on the job at hand.
Cut back out to the woods, and we see Carl and Hershel in the woods. Hershel is picking leaves. Carl spots an abandonded camp where there is a mossy covered and severly decomposed walker. From behind a tree, another walker shows up, this one has what looks like a bear trap or something like that on one leg. Carl was about to bust a cap in the walker but Hershel tells him that he doesn’t have to, so Carl doesn’t.
After commercials, Hershel is back at the prison where he’s confronted by Maggie and Rick. Hershel makes an impassioned speech in favor of going in to the ward to help make people feel better using the berries that he picked out in the woods with Carl.
Rick is Investigating the scene of the crime and when he comes out to the yard, he sees that Carol is being stupid and is about to get her ass ate. Rick saves her and Carol says “we don’t know if we’ll get a tomorrow.”
We cut to the car scene, where the guys hear the voice on the radio. Daryl nearly pulls a Lori and narrowly avoids flipping the car. They come to the part where they see the 7500 walkers from last week. Daryl gives the order to abandon ship and everyone but Ty jumps out of the car.
It appears, that Ty has decided this is enough and seems to sacrifice himself so that Daryl, Michonne and Barry can get away. The gang of 3 run off into the woods and the last thing we see is Ty surrounded by walkers.
After the commercial break, Ty catches up to the rest of the group, but he is hurt. The other guys carry him with them as they run off into the woods.
Then, back at the prison, Dr. S is in bad shape but Hershel is right there giving him some tea. Hershel lets the doctor spit blood in his face as he coughs. Looks like Hershel’s tea concoction seems to be working and is helping people feel better.
“Keep this on your forehead, veterinarian’s orders” is what Hershel tells Glenn.
Back in the courtyard, Rick tells Carol not to do stupid crap like going out in the woods by herself again. The group needs her, basically is what Rick tells her. It turns out, that Carol killed and then burned the sick people.
