Cockneys vs Zombies
I recently had the pleasure of watching this movie. It’s about a group of hapless would be bank robbers and their grandfather.
The synopsis is this: while building a new condo complex, some construction workers uncover and then break into a sealed tomb where they get bit by a zombie. From there, the infection spreads all over the east side of London and as they say, “shenanigans ensue.”
The hapless crew that the story follows, is made up of brothers Andy and Bob and a few other people, most notably their hawt cousin Katie. Katie, seems to be the only person that is competent and capable of thinking organized thoughts.
She also rocks the tank top and jeans look. But I digress.
The crew gets caught up in the mix of the zombie apocalypse when they are trying to make their escape from robbing a bank in the aforementioned east side of London.
I enjoyed this movie quite a bit. If only for watching Katie be a badass and also seeing the actor that played “Brick Top” in the movie “Snatch” playing the kid’s grandfather. The dialogue is pretty freaking awesome too.
It makes me wonder, if this might be a continuation of that same story line from Snatch and now Brick Top, is retired and living in a nursing home. Speaking of the nursing home, I also liked that they didn’t make the old people be completely helpless, although they do provide some of the funniest scenes in the movie.
Overall, I give them credit in Cockneys vs Zombies for some very creative zombie kills, specially the one with the grenade and also for creative makeup and props as well. On to killing more “Trafalgars” we go!
